Originally distributed on September 22, 2026, this release documented Exceptional Children’s Foundation’s annual South LA Art Showcase & Sale and EPEC Media’s communications work supporting greater public recognition for artists with developmental disabilities.

Hosted at ECF’s South Los Angeles studio, the September 19 event brought paintings, ceramics, drawings, prints, digital art, animation and other original work directly before the public. The showcase also highlighted ECF’s broader commitment to opportunity, visibility and community participation throughout adulthood.

ECF Art Centers have supported adults with developmental disabilities in developing professional artistic practices since 1968. Across four Los Angeles County studios, artists receive individualized instruction, studio resources, and opportunities to exhibit and sell their work.

The South LA showcase extended that work into the public sphere, where visitors could meet artists, engage with their work and acquire original pieces. Proceeds supported both participating artists and ECF’s Art Centers program.

The event reflected ECF’s larger lifespan approach to disability services, including education, therapeutic services, employment and workforce development, residential programs, arts programming and community-based support.
